Important NTS Information

Notice to Schedule (NTS) issued by NASBA
After your application to test is approved by the Board of Examiners, the NTS is valid for a six-month period. During that six months, you must schedule AND TAKE all exam sections on that NTS. After that six month period, the NTS will expire and all fees forfeited. It is strongly suggested that you not apply for a section of the examination until you are ready to take it. If you do not take all exam sections for which you applied before the NTS expires, you will not be able to extend it or receive a refund of any of the fees you have paid.

Online Applications & Transactions

Using the online system you can:

submit an examination application
submit an application for certification based on reciprocity, IQEX exam score, or transfer of exam
credit from another jurisdiction
look up your examination scores
Illinois CPAs may request certification verification,
obtain a duplicate certificate or update their records

Registration and Licensure

The Illinois Board of Examiners approves CPA certification only.

January-February 2012 Score Release

The AICPA has NOT provided the score release schedule for the first window of 2012. We should get word in the near future. We HOPE the first batch of scores for candidates testing January 1-20 will be released in the second week of February. This has NOT been confirmed.

REMINDER - Provisional Candidates

If you were approved to take the CPA exam while enrolled in your final term of school, you are a Provisional Candidate. If your final term of school is complete, you must IMMEDIATELY have an official transcript sent to the Board of Examiners.

All official paper score notices for candidates who tested from October 1 - November 30, 2011 have been mailed from the Board office via U.S. Mail.

The CPA Candidate Bulletin is the most informative publication available to answer your questions about the CPA exam including the procedures for applying for the exam, the payment coupon, the Notice To Schedule, exam scoring, refund policies, etc. Quoting the AICPA website, "The Candidate Bulletin is the official handbook for individuals who plan to take the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.
